The Behavioral Sciences Association (BSA) is a student-led organization aimed at promoting good mental health in the Northwest community. In BSA, members are able to expand their knowledge about the behavioral sciences while engaging in philanthropic, networking and service-related activities at Northwest Missouri State University and within the local community. The purpose of the Health Science and Wellness Future Professionals group at Northwest Missouri State University shall be to promote professional development and a sense of fellowship among its members and the entire student body.

Psi Chi is the International Honor Society in Psychology. It was founded in 1929 for the purpose of encouraging, stimulating, and maintaining excellence in scholarship and advancing the science of psychology. Membership is open to students who are majoring or minoring in psychology, biology/psychology,human services or child and family studies and meet the minimal GPA and other requirements. The "oldest" organization of professional psychologists. The APA has 49 divisions that range from general psychology to clinical psychology to sports psychology to gay/lesbian issues. The members of this organization are interested in what the body can tell us about behavior, information processing, and psychopathology. These researchers relate brain activity (measured via EEG, PET, MRI, CAT), eye movements, blinks, head movements, heart rate, blood pressure, muscle movement/tension, etc. to psychological events.
